Transferring a Website to a New Web Host

When a website is created, it needs to be attached to a web host. But sometimes the web host that is chosen may not fulfill all of the needs that a website owner is looking for. This is when it is time to change web hosts, where the entire website must be transferred to one web host to a newly chosen option. When switching to a new web host, there are certain steps that can be taken to ensure that the conversion is a smooth one.

A logo can influence the opinion a visitor will have about a particular website. A logo can draw attention to a website, product or service and create further interest. Choosing a logo that speaks to a particular audience and conveys the message a website owner wants to send out is an important issue to recognize. When displaying a logo on a website, a generic graphic or design will not do; it simply doesn’t allow a company or website to stand out and demand the attention that is needed to keep a visitor engaged or sell a product. Below are a few things to keep in mind when designing or deciding upon a website logo:

Simplicity
Sometimes a visitor will take notice in an elaborate design, but more often, a simple logo is a more effective choice. Some of the best logos are those that are basic and easy-to-recognize. The McDonald’s sign can be spotted and recognized by patrons of all ages. Visitors do not like logos that create a distraction or present an inquiry as to what the design stands for in the first place.

Fonts
Fonts that are easy-to-read should be incorporated into a logo. Usually, this means staying away from fonts that display a serif. This can become distracting, as well as hard-to-follow when the logo is shrunk to a smaller size. Fonts, such as Times New Roman are the most easily read and recognizable fonts that can be used within a logo.

First Impression
Logos come a dime a dozen and some of the ones that last are those that are easily remembered, easily recognized, as well as unique. When a logo appears similar to another, it is hard for a website visitor to identify with the company or website, let alone tell the difference between the two. Website owners should look for individuality on the Internet.

Color
A meaning or message can be sent to a target audience by the colors that are chosen for a logo. For example, a website pertaining to food may utilize reds, oranges or yellows within their logo because these colors are often associated with food. A logo also becomes cluttered when more than three colors are used. Two is the number of colors to aim for.

Message
A logo sends out a message regarding the company and what it has to offer. Logos should clearly represent what the company is promoting or providing. A logo for a car repair shop most likely should not have a graphic of a flag on it unless it had something to do with the name. Logos should also set the tone for a business. Hospitals do not display logos with a comical character on it because this sort of business should convey a serious tone or message.

Style
A logo should represent a level of professionalism. The incorporation of colors, messages, the presentation and ideas all influence a visitor’s decision regarding a company or business. The logo should be clean, well-designed and well-presented. The more professional the logo appears leads to how serious a business or company will be taken.
